TFC first was an updated version of the Quake mod Team Fortress. TFC is all about strategy and teamwork. It is an action game that features a wide variety of character classes enlisted in a unique style of online team warfare. There are different player types which have the upper hand in certain situations and roles, but no one class can do everything or be everything.

Team Fortress Classic is a TEAM-game. You have to rely on your team-mates to get the job done. It's available as a free add-on for Half-Life.

TFC has different types of gameplay, depending on the map being played.

- Two teams slaughter each other for the honour of nabbing the others' flag.

- Bodyguards have to protect a President class while he tries to get to an escape, and Assassins have to do him in.

- Two teams plant their flags on different parts of the map and try to control the greatest area as long as they can.
